Sperb’s Herbs – Bo He (Mint)

Mint is such a versatile herb: lots of various medical and culinary uses and it is super tasty. This episode of Sperb’s Herbs will explore all of these uses (and might include a tasty recipe or two). Join us for an exploration of one of the best tasting herbs in the pharmacopeia.

Every two weeks another exciting new episode of the Sperb’s Herbs podcast is recorded. Each episode covers another herb and will go into great depth about it. Besides covering the basics of Chinese herbology including category, and functions, we will explore the history, quality, science, pharmacology, evidence, and any potential interactions of each herb. And then there is always something a little quirky about an episode. Whether that is a unique story or an interesting perspective, there will always be something different to learn about episode’s herb.

Course Goals

A listener will be able to:

1. Comprehend basic Chinese and biomedical information about Bo He (Mint)
2. Converse about the current scientific evidence about the uses, dangers, and effectiveness of Bo He (Mint)
3. Understand the history of Bo He (Mint), especially in the context of the Chinese classics
4. Understand and prevent any potential drug-herb interactions
