Sperb’s Herbs – Er Chen Tang (Two Aged Herb Decoction)

Er Chen Tang is a foundational formula and is the mother of many famous and important formulas in Chinese herbology. It in the dry dampness and transform phlegm category of herbs, but its influence extends to much more. Historically, this formula has a long history and influence on the application of medicinals in China. Please join us for an amazing journey with an amazing formula.

Every other week an exciting new episode of the Sperb’s Herbs, podcast is recorded. Each episode of the podcast will go into great depth about a single herb or formula. Besides covering the basics of the formula including category, and functions of both the formula and the individual herbs in the formula, we will explore the history, science, pharmacology, evidence, and any potential interactions of each formula. And then there is always something a little quirky about an episode. Whether that is a unique story or an interesting perspective, there will always be something different to learn about episode’s formula.

Course Goals

A listener will be able to:

1. Comprehend basic Chinese and bio- medical information about Er Chen Tang
2. Converse about the current scientific evidence about the uses, dangers, and effectiveness of Er Chen Tang
3. Understand the history of Er Chen Tang, especially in the context of the Chinese classics
4. Understand and prevent any potential drug-herb interactions

This is California Acupuncture Board (CAB) Category 1 live education course. For NCCAOM, each episode is an 1 hour core PDA.
