Protecting Yourself Through Proper Charting

This course looks at how to do a proper chart and examines some of the common mistakes made when charting. Based on the instructors experience with medical charting and over 12 years of clinical supervising, seeing all the mistakes and studying what makes a great chart. In addition, this course will discuss medicolegal aspects of SOAP notes as well as the SOAPE note. This course is a must take for anyone who wishes to protect themselves legally as well give the best care to their patients.

This course will be presented as a live webinar on March 28, 2021 from 1 to 3pm.

Course Goals

A participant in this course will be able to:

  1. Employ the SOAP and SOAPE style of charting
  2. Avoid common errors in charting
  3. Identify medicolegal aspects of proper charting and the consequences of improper charting

This is a live California Acupuncture Board (CAB) Category 1 live education course. For NCCAOM, this course is a 2 hour biomedicine PDA. This course is pending approval by the California Acupuncture Board and NCCAOM for 2 hours of continuing education and PDAs.
