Treating Inflammatory Bowel Disease with Chinese Medicine

Ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease can be devastating diseases. Often biomedical treatment involves strong pharmaceuticals with lots of adverse drug reactions. Chinese medicine can help treat and support patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). This course will look at IBD from both biomedical and Chinese points of view, and discuss Chinese medical diagnostics and therapeutics. Participants will leave with a real-world approach to treating these conditions.

Course Goals

A participant in this course will be able to:

  1. Understand inflammatory bowel disease from a biomedical perspective
  2. Apply Chinese and biomedical diagnostics to patients with inflammatory bowel disease
  3. Develop appropriate and effective treatment strategies

  4. Patricia

Very Knowledgeable and accurate with his delivery.

  5. Margaret

This was more a survey of research – and heavy on the allopathic/western approach of IBD. I would have liked more Acupuncture Chinese Medicine perspective.

  6. Jane

Really appreciated both his western and eastern distinctions in this disease. Great teacher. Knows his stuff. Is sensible in his approach from experience rather than just towing the line. I like that.

  7. Robyn

I wish there was more time spend on the Chinese aspect verses Western medicine.

  8. Darlena

Excellent presentation. Exceptional – well organized; clear presentation. Thank you!

  9. Marnie

I would like to have spent a little more time on IBD in relation to Chinese Medicine and a little less time on the Western side and probiotics and supplements. He was great and open for questions and sharing his clinical experience.
