Miscellaneous Drugs and Chinese Medicine

An eclectic group of drugs await us as we explore miscellaneous drugs and how they interact with Chinese medicine. We will look at erectile dysfunction, osteoporosis, immunosuppressive, obesity, and acne drugs, skeletal muscle relaxants, and aids for smoking cessation. Join us as we look at the uses, mechanisms of action, cautions, and potential interactions of these agents.

Course Goals

A participant will be able to:

  1. Understand how miscellaneous drugs and herbs interact
  2. Identify the most common miscellaneous drugs with potential for drug-herb interactions
  3. Explore how major miscellaneous drugs act on the body
  4. Protect oneself from potential medico-legal issues arising from interactions

This is California Acupuncture Board (CAB) Category 1 distance education course. For NCCAOM, this course is a 3 hour safety PDA. This course is approved by the California Acupuncture Board and NCCAOM for 3 hours of continuing education and PDAs.
